last christmas ...
HK was the host of the sixth Ministerial Conference of the WTO, which was held just before Christmas, from 13 to 18 December 2005. As a security measure, all the footbridges in Wanchai were shielded with protective nets. While people's reactions towards this event might be mixed, at least the organizer should be commended for this: they did care to decorate the net a bit.

x'mas shopping and ...
shooting in Causeway Bay, one of the busiest shopping districts in HK, is quite an experience. It's impossible to stand still for more than 10 seconds without being bumped. Not much I could try except taking a few snap shots. Of course, it would be another story if I got a big tripod, plus a ladder and an assistant.:-)

night wanders ...

As long as I'm not too exhausted after work or a long meeting in the evening, I'll take the opportunity afterwards to "wander" a while before going home. While I'm not giving myself any pressure to produce a pic, the interesting experience is I'll almost always encounter scenes that make me feel:
"I have to get a shot!"

holiday mood ...
taken one December night well before Christmas ... When I got back home, I was greeted by some nice decorations in the lobby. I couldn't resist taking a few pics and trying out the macro mode of the F11. Oh, I miss that holiday mood ...

a designer's house ...

I can still recall it was a cold windy night last December ... I was photographing Cotton Tree Drive but this beautiful designer's house caught my attention; I decided to take a few more shots despite the chill. It's always a joy to find an old building being rejuvenated and put to good use ...

on my way home ...
Sel, a good friend on the FTF, once asked me if I ever got to go home or if I lived my life on the streets taking pics. :-) My answer was that the shots were actually taken on my way home ... I guess over 90% of my street photos have been taken during the 45 minutes journey after I leave the office to get home every evening - very much the only opportunity when I've got both the time and leisurely mind to take some pics ...

a photographers event ...
Having so much fun with the F10, I decided to get an F11 almost without hesitation last November ...
Being a passerby, I came across with a spectacular scene in the HK University - more than hundred photo enthusiasts gathering around the Lotus Pond, enjoying their shooting. As for me, I was having the great fun in photographing "professionally equipped photographers" with my new pocket camera :-)
