city lights ...










In the daytime, the City is more and more a concrete jungle to me, but when the evening comes and lights are on, I'm fascinated as ever...
"I love you ... just the way you look tonight." Couldn't help singing.

the blue house ...







An 80 year old 4-storey tenement, with no elevators and even flushing water system. Might not appeal to many, but when I passed by it one evening, I was entirely fascinated. Not only by its colors, textures and architectural details, but more by its 'human' factor that was so rich. Containing memories of more than three generations, it's still serving the same purposes and functions since it was first built - housing families and chambers of local community. I was amazed to witness its being "alive", living far far beyond the normal economical and physical life of a building in this fast changing City ... I learned afterwards that some public bodies are now planning to "preserve" this heritage and "revitalise" the area into a "tourist destination"; the existing residents would of course need to vacate ...
