some urban impressions...

when you look into your familiar surroundings really "intensely", sometimes pretty interesting details would just pop up...

"splash" or "dandelions" (hk zoological & botanical garden)

"corrosion / urban decay" (swatow street)

"dazzled" (jardine bazaar, causeway bay)

"a summer rainy day" (queen's road east)

"typhoon signal #8" (ice house street, central)

the oldest church in hk...

though I'm not really a religious person, I did feel purified after a moment inside this oldest church in Hong Kong...
St. John's Cathedral (constructed in 1849), Garden Road, Hong Kong

shanghai trip 2008

... weather wasn't good at all and my schedule pretty tight, yet I found the life around so vivid and the environment (especially the "harmonious contrast" between old and new) so exciting that I couldn't help taking as many shots as possible... I somehow felt like a child looking at a new world for the first time.:-)

arriving in bad weather

old shanghai and a new german car flying by...

old shanghai... a relaxing saturday afternoon

old shanghai... a back alley

"urban regeneration..." Glad to find that not everyone passing by was indifferent

new shanghai... the two tenors

"worship" of some kind...

new shanghai... bank buildings

"streamlined..."

the central police compound - revisited

A study of the compound at night...

I was hoping the mood of the night could add to its atmosphere... but totally unexpected was such an air of romance!
