a respectable old man ...

Not too far from the spot I met the three respectable old ladies, I encountered this 82-year-old tailor. We had a brief yet very enjoyable chat. As he talked, he disclosed how delighted and proud he had been to live on his own, how he had stood every bad weather to work 6 days a week, how he had been repairing his antique sewing maching ... He also illustrated keen eyes and steady hands which made me feel ashamed.
