looking up for a blue sky ...
I wonder why a nice blue sky has become rare these days (because of air pollution getting worse, I'm not sure). Though I looked up everyday hoping to find one, the sad fact is that there were only two occasions in the entire May that I could see a blue sky.

shooting at home - a vacuum tube amplifier ...
We all have these things - a book, a gift, an old amplifier, placed at this corner or that in the house. Perhaps some are simply of little use and thus left there unattended; the others are only used or consumed for what they are, without being noticed otherwise. Yet, it can be fun to photograph them, bringing back all the memories ...Posted on the FTF 050530:

rainy days ...
Took this shot in one evening during the long rainy season this summer. I was trapped inside a double decker which was trapped in the bad weather traffic jam. Just when I started to feel really bored, I was lucky to find some "nice" images through the window ...

two ifc and the moon ...
This is essentially my first series of 'the city by night'. Thanks to David Motisko who introduced to me some beautiful night shots of HK, I started to be itchy to take some myself.
When I came to Central one cloudy night in May, the gorgeous ifc (the tallest building in HK) and a full moon caught my eyes. Though I didn't have a proper tripod and the sky was cloudy, I decided to give it a try. I just didn't want to wait until another full moon ... I was probably right - cause I haven't got much chance to photograph ifc and a full moon again since then.

The original intention was to test the low light capability of the F10; this turned out to be one of my favourites, especially in this season. Joy and peace to all ...

bamboo broom & banyan roots
These are the roots of an old banyan tree on the retaining wall near where I live. The clever street cleaning worker must have been doing this for years - hanging the bamboo broom on the banyan tree roots when it is not used. Though passing by this almost everyday, I did not notice this interesting image, until I got my F10 in April.
Posted on the FTF 050504. Though failed to generate too much response, it's an image I really like:
mother and child ...
This was what I noticed when I woke up one early summer morning. I grabbed my F10, switched off all the beeping and "shutter" sound, and tried to capture this lovely moment of peace and warmth. Posted on the FTF 050502:

An Old Fashioned Tailor ...
It was a sunday night when I walked past the shop of an old fashioned tailor who was still working hard. Flash was out of the question cause I did not want to disturb him. I'm glad that I had brought my little photo machine with me ....

watching rain ...
051218, one day in my life; the 1st day of my photoblog.
Took up photography in April 2005 when I got a little photo machine, the Fuji F10; quite to my surprise, what started off as a leisure time hobby has evolved very soon into an important part of my life.
Taking photos is gratifying when it succeeds in capturing the moments my eyes see something and my heart feels it too; letting everybody else see what I've seen and felt is such a joyous and memorable experience that I've decided to start this photoblog...
Let me start with the favourite photo of mine. I took the shot on a rainy day this summer as I was "trapped" in Central, HK. This was in fact a busy covered footbridge linking up two commercial complexes. I'm glad to be decisive enough to take the shot - the scene was gone in just a few minutes ...
