cental market - a heritage of unknown fate...

one of the last two "Bauhaus market buildings" in Hong Kong (http://www.pbase.com/hpicckcy/bauhaus_market_buildings). Not only was it the first wet market in HK, it was also once the biggest meat markets in Southeast Asia. However, being located at the core CBD, this 4-storey building was considered seriously underdeveloped for such a precious piece of land. It was eventually closed and vacated a few years ago (with the exception of only a few shops on the 2nd floor arcade). However, to the surprise of the Government, her plan to demolish the building for another private commercial skyscraper was blocked by fierce objections...

"no negative needed..." no need to be negative? But I read the news on 3 September 2008 that this site would be officially on the Government's List of Sites for Sale...

If it was painted plain black and white in the Bauhaus style and someone repaired the lines and countours it would look pretty awesome.

But if that were to happen how do you think it would sync with the surrounding buildings?
