kung hei fat choy!:-)

Happy Chinese New Year!!!
Continue to have fun with the "new toy"... Shopping for the Chinese New Year was such a good reason to go out last Sunday afternoon. Didn't buy much but took quite a few snapshots with the new camera.:-) Nothing really special (just some familiar steet scenes along Queen's Road West) but maybe it's this versatile cam, or maybe it's because of the holiday mood, I have had a wonderful time...

Kung Hei Fat Choi!

Hi Hugo, and may this year of the rat bring good fortune to you and your family.

The shoe shop photo is really nice, as too the bag shop images. It really is capturing the difficult lighting well.

Not sure it'll be a camera I'd go for, but I know plenty of people it would suit (those who want pretty much everything in one go).

Take care,

Ian

Kung Hei Fat Choi & Good Health!

Hugo, I guess it is about time you post these wonderful pictures in the FTF:-)

I love this series very much, it shows older part of HK, feel like going back to the 60s.

My favourite is the one of the man with a duck for a head.....really great street shot!

Also the toning on the B&Ws is wonderful!

I opened a Flickr account a month or so ago and have really enjoyed in particular, looking at the 'street' photography.

Here's a very thoughtful one that I thought you may enjoy given how positive you're feeling about this new camera.

I'm just so pleased that you're having such a fun time with it.

I'm sure that this enjoyment will be reflected in the photos you take with it Hugo and I'm looking forward to seeing lots more from you.

Happy Lunar New Year my friends!!!

May the year of rat bring the best to you all!

Smith: The new cam continues to amaze me in capturing the difficult lighting though it's subject to one major limitation - its max dynamic range setting is only available at ISO400 or above...

Danny: Glad that mood of the 60s was conveyed - it's exactly what captured me. I've been travelling along this old road since I was a young schoolboy.:-)

Bramham: I love that shot too!:-) The lighting and colours were just beautiful and adding to the subject... Thanks for the link! Lots of wonderful shots! Rundadar? The "Rundadar" on the Nikon dSLR Forum? I should have met him there - a very nice and talented photographer...

Mike: I do wish to share my joy on the Forum and tell all the friends there how wonderful this camera is. If they like the F-series and S-series, they'll love this new camera...

Thanks again for taking the time to leave your warm words. Do stay tuned - I've got some nice shots in the past few days and I'd post them once I have the chance to process them.:-)

Best regards,
Hugo
