10:26 pm ...

it's already after 10 when I finished my work one recent Friday night; and as I trudged past the Wanchai Market, where I didn't expect to see any activities at all, I was drawn to some colourful lights in the midst of darkness...

Hi Hugo...I must have missed this one on DPR but I'll take a look at the thread in a minute.

I really like the photo. The way you've composed it is really great; the frame of deep shadow works so well!

Ian, it's nice to see you stopping by. Glad you liked this one - it's definitely one of my recent favs... I was really excited when I found the scene - the subject, lighting, forms, composition, etc. were all there and all I needed to do was to get the exposure right and hold the camera steady enough to avoid blur.:-)

Cheers,
Hugo

This is one of my favorites from these that you have posted. Fantastic image. It gives humans a sense of comfort to see light in the midst of darkness, and with this photograph, you have perfectly captured that sense of having found refuge -- food, light, warmth, shelter, company, whatever it is the body or mind or soul is craving to find in the darkness (both literal and figurative darkness).
